Thanksgiving in California

We're back! Since I am off on maternity leave, we had the luxury of taking an extra long Thanksgiving break. We went to California to visit the Owen's.
During our time there Richard got in some golfing time which Kylee and I sometimes joined in on (just riding in the cart), some much needed R&R (especially with so many eager babysitters), and of course some shopping! It was great.

Here a few pictures of some new outfits Kylee received. The pink one says "Rock and Roll Princess" which is why she's 'singing' with the microphone. The other is her new Christmas dress, (isn't it adorable?!)

We were also able to do Kylee's baby blessing while we were with family. What a wonderful experience that was! Plus we finally got one of her super cute smiles on camera (she's so darn sneaky with those!)

It was so good to be home for awhile and spend time with everyone. Now I can't wait to get to Minnesota for Christmas! :)

Totally a Daddy's Girl!!

First of all, Kylee is 1 week old already!!! And during that time she has decided that she is a daddy's girl! She is good with me for the most part, but once she's in daddy's arms, not a peep comes out of her mouth! :) Here is the picture to prove it! I caught this moment while we were watching a movie this afternoon. Everyone has to have one of these classics, right? :)

Kylee Pictures

Here are some more pictures of her so you can see what she really looks like. The last one is the 'how you doin?' face. She has some funny ones for all occasions. Especially when pooping, that one is pretty entertaining. haha. Video still to come, check back soon!

Special Delivery!

Shes finally here! Kylee McKenzie Owen was born on Monday October 27th at 10:28am. She was 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. The doctor said she has a big noggin and Lindsey agrees! She is healthy and very strong. Contractions barely changed her heart rate and she already tries to hold her head up if she is on her stomach. She eats well and keeps it all down, and is a good sleeper also. Grandma (Lindseys mom) came and was a lot of help. She has her dads ears and mo
uth, and her moms toes and nose. (Poor kid! jk) A video will be coming once I get it edited and compressed.

We are getting close! Baby is due tomorrow (Oct 20) We were going to be induced, but decided since it was only for the convenience of our doctor that there was no rush. Baby is doing well and contractions are getting more regular. Just waiting for now. Lindsey just walked in eating cream of wheat and chocolate milk. Hope that is a craving thing cause that is not normal at 4 in the afternoon when it is 100 degrees outside still. Check back later for pictures......

Long Week

Lindsey had her baby shower this week. Yeah! that went well. We also think we know the babys name. Tell us what you think. Kylee or Kylie McKenzie Owen. Lindsey now has nothing to do but ask me what I think about all the baby clothes. haha. There are a lot of cute outfits I guess.

I have been busy all week printing shirts. That is a good thing, but it is feast or famine and I need to find a way to spread it out. I worked 14 to 16 hour days all week to get them done, but they turned out good. On top of that my new calling of seminary principal has me getting up at 5 am every day so by the end of the week I was a crabby zombie. oh well, payed off some bills and even had some to put in the bank. It is unusual for us to be in the positive as far as banking goes. Sure that wont last long with the diaper monster coming next month!

Leave us a post, tell us which spelling you like better!!

Pirate Party

Richards niece Katelynn had her birthday party with the family while we were there for Andrews farewell last weekend. It was a pirate party with treasure hunt and all.

Pirate girls Andrews confetti gun Present time

Now theres some fierce looking pirates.

Here are some T-shirts I am printing for Lindseys school. They are getting shirts and polos.

Last we had a major storm this week. Storm clouds past 50,000 feet, and winds over 100 mph in some places. There was non-stop lightning for two nights in a row. Went and moved the cars so they didnt get damaged. We got lucky and our tree didnt fall all the way over, but the neighbors did and the ones across the street as well. A lot of power outages and roofs ripped off around town though.

ours is leaning the neighbors didnt make it

Pirate Parrrrty

Last we had a severe storm here this week. The storm cell went up past 50,000 feet and the winds topped 80 mph. There was amazing lightning nonstop for about two days. A lot of power outages and trees and roofs ripped off. Went out to move our car so it didnt get damaged. Luckily our tree didnt fall, but the neighbors did and the ones across the street did.

The end of the summer already?!

So it is officially the end of summer. The way this is determined is the fact that school has started! :( Now you parents out there are probably like "what! we were counting down the days for them to finally go back!" I on the other hand was hoping for a few more hours of sleep this morning!! haha! The first day of school did go very well however. I have 20 kids, but only 17 showed up today (pretty sure that number will change at least 5 times by the end of the week!) So far no major problems...but it's only been the first day. : )

(A few pics of my classroom this year)

Other than that the pregnancy is going well. Still feeling good and able to get around well enough. The only thing is that I have noticed that I seem to be getting bigger not only around the middle but every where else, ESPECIALLY my feet!! This pic is disgusting evidence that if I sit too long, my feet and calves suffer!! However, I'm realizing that my extremely swollen feet are making up for the fact that I haven't been sick or had any major complications thus far. So I've decided that maybe these tree trunks attached to my legs aren't so bad after all! : )

More Summer Vacation

After Lyssas wedding reception in California we drove all night to Vegas to fly to Minnesota to see Lindseys family. (Wedding pictures coming soon) It was "grandpas" 50th so there was a "surprise" party. It was good to see her family again since many of them came down for the party.

On our way home we visited Kent and Denise in Vegas (thanks again guys!) and finally made our way home. On our way we visited Hoover Dam since Lindsey hasnt seen it up close yet. You may recognize it from the Transformers movie.

and now we are finally home again!
ps, we wish Lindseys new outti was one with four tires and an engine! haha

Summer Vacation........so far.

Went to Monterey with Richards family for the 4th of July. Went golfing, saw fireworks, went shopping. Best part was the nice weather! Jesse trying to feed his golf ball to the deer.

Waterskiing at Kaweah Lake. Got sunburned and sore! Dont get to go often enough anymore.
Katelynn could go backward on the kneeboard on her first try. Richard could still haul his fat butt up in the air too.

Richard hiked Mount Whitney again. Took the one day route this time instead of the 80 mile route that they did last time. His brother Andrew and some of their friends went too. Pictures of the mountain, switchbacks, the top, rugged terrain, and dirty blistery soreness when done.

Next came the family reunion in Bear Lake, Idaho. Hula hoop game, lots of grandkids, and them painting. Most of the reunion is video and takes FOREVER to load, so just some pictures for now.
